The Rich Munitz Travel Disease - Return from Novi addition (OT)

I believe I caught it somehow.....

Car overheats on Ohio Turnpike on Tuesday with no other indicators prior....Fortunate to make it to Brady's Leap Service plaza have way between Cleveland and Youngstown. Funny that AC was not working great in MI, figure that was some related. Call USAA roadside assistance and pick a Honda Dealer (have civic hybrid, so dealer is best bet) in Youngstown to head toward. Tow Truck arrives in 20 minutes. Call the dealer from tow truck....no service availability for 2 weeks!

Tow truck driver (Josh) suggests his GFs dealer in Akron. Get there about 1230, quick look says new radiator necessary, slow leak. None in stock, will have to wait until Wednesday AM. Car is drivable and could risk driving ~400 miles home. Decide to stay and experience Akron culture or lack thereof rather then redo towing experience somewhere on PA Turnpike. Good neighborhood Italian restaurant for dinner (Retz Laconi II)

Wednesday AM, dealer calls says need a new A/C as well. Fill time by starting on Mary and Marty's new book. Car to ready about 1:30. The tow truck driver was raving about a hamburger place one block from the dealership......Swensons (since 1934).... Car done on-time and continue trip. Arrive home with no further bad things happening.

Bottom line....My one night stay in Akron cost 2 times my six nights in Novi with tourney events (net slight negative), Tiger game and 3 rounds of golf. As I told Josh (the tow truck guy), "Nice to meet you, hope I never see you again!"

Rich.....does this make your top ten?
