After reducing the midpoint to four checkers, it is often best to move up the two back checkers with 43 or 32. As I recall, that is the case here. FWIW, several of White's numbers (21 41 42 52) that might otherwise double-hit already point on Blue, but the more general reason is the aforementioned one of distribution.

The position pair that comes to mind is 31P-61P-51N-32 (on the left) and 31P-xxP-51N-32 (on the right, where xx is 31, 42 or 53). For the former, I recall that best is (Up, 24/22 24/21). For the latter, definitely not U: I think best is D (Down, 13/11 13/10), Z (reverse split, 24/22 13/10) or d (down, 13/8) -- not much difference and I think it depends on which inner point Blue has made (5pt, 4pt or 3pt).
