Nice variants!

The first one makes some sense to me because I was already thinking that Blue's timing problems warranted a tempo hit + stepping up. Not too sure why 5/2*(2) is still a poor stepchild to 8/2* despite the duplication of 5's, but I think I just haven't internalized the merits of 8/2*.

The second one I find tougher to explain. 5/2*(2) drops precipitously; presumably the fact that 5's aren't duplicated is important. But I don't really see why making the six-prime should drop in (relative) value compared to the original position.
