With only a 3-prime to leap there's no urgency to run, especially down by 30 pips.

Making the nine doesn't accomplish as much as it looks since it only blocks 52. Making the 10 blocks just as many rolls, and it gives the opportunity to slot the four point. With two blots to shoot at I think blue can afford to slot. And making the ten seems superior to 10/4 since it gives a few more covers and admits fewer escaping rolls.
