Hey, Jacoby and Crawford was my first book as well. I locked horns, fa dollas, in my first chouette, 1975, with some Beckerites, and stodginess carried the day. Stodginess, strange attractor, and strange corruptor of youthful innocence, but well, there it is then.

I think they must have been taking my gammonish doubles too much, which must have been very late in coming. I can't have been thinking deeply, "Play tight against these howling baboons," it was a clash of styles more than anything else.
