I would have voted for your play if I had been available to vote. My analysis was 0-ply so there could be reasons that other plays are better.
I don't like 24/23 (for same reasons as others). 6/5 would be nice but it only comes paired with 24/23. I don't like 10/9(2) for two reasons: 10-point blocks Stick's anchor better, and 9-point and 3-point don't go together. [3/2*(2), 10/9(2) doesn't have the latter issue, though. That's my 2nd choice.]
8/7(2) isn't bad. 3/2*(2) isn't bad. The latter gives tempo for our lonely back checker. This is probably one of those rolls we might rather just forfeit. Since we have to play four aces, I try for the least damaging. My one reservation about our play is maybe owning the 10-point is as much a future liability as it is a present asset. But since we haven't escaped the last checker, it seems the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
