In a big tournament I won, an opponent (one of your fellow Armenians, but I imagine you'd be just slightly superior to him, say by 400 points) doubled me to 2 in a long straight race, at some mutual low score in the 13-point match, when the pip count was even--or he may have been a pip or two down. I don't know if he miscounted: maybe his position just looked good to him. He wasn't visibly steaming, either, though he was known to tilt on occasion.

I showed the position to Walter Trice later and he said "You know, he might have been right given the matchup." Presaging "Can a Fish Taste Twice As Good?"
