When these positions are placed side by side, it's clear that breaking anchor is more dangerous in Position 1. But how do you decide when the tipping point has been reached? I guess you amass positions like this one and gradually build your judgment. Note, by the way, that giving Blue a five-point board also makes a difference (not shown here).
