Chris Bray: Ultimate hard luck story

I don't recall the position from Chris's book. I do recall it from one of my articles, the lucky player being Joanie Ross, a Michigan player, who won an 8-cube at $25 about thirty years ago from almost this position. The key difference being that her opponent had four checkers each on the ace and deuce and wasn't odd yet.
Perhaps the confusion with Chris Bray comes because in the same article I mentioned Chris's book, and a position played by Paul Lamford where Paul had three on the roof, the third having come from a slot from his 6pt, and otherwise still having his starting position. The opponent had a five point board, spares on the 2-3-4 and two checkers off. Paul entered with boxes and won the game while his opponent, perforce, averaged less than 3.6 pips per roll for ten rolls.
My contention was that Paul's set of entering boxes was the unluckiest roll in history, as his game winning chances dropped by around 22 orders of magnitude. The rest of the game was just the dice evening out. :-)
