Legal Moves (Re: Non-gin positions)

Good day:

As a proponent of "Legal Moves" (even if its one-sided) does it encompass more than just the checker moves? As in, consessions or claims of a gammon/single game, thats not gin? I had/saw a couple situations this weekend in Madison, when:

A) An opponent claimed 1 point, when a 3 roll parley (7 rolls including D4, opp set and D4) would still have won a gammon. B) An opponent entering during the bear-off and with no further contact, conceded a gammon (and the match) which could still be "mathematically" saved. (Extreme long shot 4 roll parlay, opp needing 3 big sets and 2 aces from leader) C) 2A/2A opponent entering from the bar during bear-off, "believing" it had been cubed early (amazingly it had not) concedes 2 and the match, with a very reasonable chance to save gammon and continue.

In all three cases, the opponent was alerted to the non-gin potential. In Match A: The opponent continued, same result a gammon (a lot of breath holding as the the first 2 parts of the parlay did happen) In Match B: The opponent acknowledged the possibility, but still conceded the match and left. In Match C: The opponent stated he had conceded and willing to stand by it, the leader refused the concession and requested they continue. (the gammon was saved and the leader did lose the match)

Since "legal moves" was not mentioned or agreed upon before the game, alerting the opponent to a non-gin position is/would be considered a sportmanship type gesture. (that was very costly in match C)

My questions actually are: 1) If "legal moves" are agreed upon, or in effect, is a non-gin consession or claim considered an illegal move? (and must be pointed out and corrected)

2) If so, Can you insist upon the opp roling until it is gin? (even if it may seem like its rubbing salt into the wound, as in match B above)
