A Not-So-Fortuitous 42 in a Backgame

In 1976 I knew this guy - he claimed his mother attended a party that Elizabeth Taylor also attended, and I believed him - who usually said, "A very fortuitous roll!" after a 42 came out of his cup.

I have rolled out four plays and plan to post the rollout result in roughly 24 hours.

Top two plays separated by 0.006, both rolled out 41472 times. XG rollout result claims to be 100.0% sure of the best play. Next two plays are off by 0.020 and 0.037, both rolled out 5184 times.

Showed this position to a former Giant, and he chose the fourth best play. Over the board, I never considered the best play.
