Email from Patti regarding GammonU / FIBS issues

Patti asked me to pass this message along regarding the issues some were observing yesterday:

Sorry about that!

FIBS and GammonU share the same hardware. Last night I had to change the IP address on one of the two incoming lines, with no advance warning. The cutover wound up being a bit chaotic, as often happens when doing such things without advance preparation.

I managed to get the networking side of the house in order, but missed a config file change. The net result was that about half the people who went to GammonU.com wound up on fibs.com instead. It should now be fixed for everyone.

Anyone who sees such problems in the future is welcome to drop me email at pattib AT pattib DOT org. There's also a FIBS Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/fibsdotcom and many of the uptime/connectivity issues are also relevant to GammonU.
