(Looks like we duped our own 3's.) Making the 10-point both blocks the opponent's anchor (sixes) and avoids a direct shot which will cost significantly in the race if hit. The checker on our 10-point is of marginal builder value otherwise, and it will remain a thorn if not covered. No question that the 21-point anchor is a plus in isolation, but I don't think that by itself overrides the value of covering the 10-point.
