... and the best 3 play candidates jumped all over the place.
This catches one's attention but doesn't mean anything except that the position is volatile, as positions with checkers on the bar, return hits (or not), and cube action soon (or not) tend to be. For example, 13/1*(2) is a great play after the fact if Opponent rolls 6-1 or 1-1, but not if he rolls 5-4. Conversely, 11/5* 22/4* is a terrible play after the fact if the response is 5-4 but not if the response is 6-1 or 1-1.
OTB 11/5* seems immediately attractive, with which Blue either plays 13/7(2) and 22/16, or 22/16 and 16/10 and 10/4*. Blue might miss 11/5* 22/4* if he doesn't see it, or if he's put off by the 22/36 return hits. But Blue's going to want to double on the 14/36 returns that miss, and the other play 11/5* 13/7(2) 22/16 gives even more hitting returns at the one home board blot than 11/5* 22/4* gives at two. Blue might look at 13/1*(2) but that seems awfully weak since White will simply anchor and/or hit on all or nearly all of his entering numbers.
