Candidate moves: run from the 18, hit loose with 13/2*, POH with 8/2* 7/2, and play safe with 13/7 6/1.

I don't like the safe play - a backgame is brewing so dumping a checker on the ace seems anti-positional. POH and hitting loose have the same premature burial problem. Running has the virtue of keeping our army in front of the enemy but at the cost of leaving a triple shot.

Since White has no board with a juicy blot on the 5 pt, the triple shot doesn't seem so bad. If white hits she'll wreck her already poor timing and her structure is poorly poised to contain the runner. Additionally, blue will have to clear the 18 eventually, so might as well do it now when white's board is most vunerable.

I'll play 18/7, fulley expecting that the best move is not on my list of candidates. (c:
