In support of Stick

"Everyone" isn't going to insist on not having their last name on the draw sheet -- this is strictly a lawyer's argument (and maybe tongue-in-cheek, for all I know). And while it is true that many celebrity nicks are paired with last names -- Magic Johnson, Goose Gossage, No Neck Williams, Yogi Berra, Bad News Barnes, Cornbread Maxwell, Long Dong Silver -- it is also true that certain brand-name stars in politics, sports and showbiz are universally known by nick or first name only -- Lula, Bono, Hillary, Madonna, Butterbean. Backgammon is an obscure market, for sure, but there is no doubt that Stick is a genuine brand name within this tiny community. By now his one-word nick isn't going to cause any confusion on a drawsheet, or anywhere else in the Game, for that matter. He wants to be called Stick and Stick only, that seems reasonable. He has earned it, don't you think?
