Rule check?

I ran into this position on gnubg and it said that 6/2, 5/off was the best move but i didn't think that was a legal move, so my question is essentially, is it? Or am I required to do 6/off 4/off because it uses the most possible pips?

The score (after 0 games) is: gnubg 0, ajain 0
