How much easier?

We can all look up or recall match equities for various match scores; however, I've often wondered how much easier (as I believe it obviously is) is it to rally from a lopsided deficit than is it to build the lopsided advantage in the first place? As an example, assume an 8-0 lead in a 9 point match between comparable players. Depending on the MET used, the trailer has something on the order of 5% MWC. What is the likelihood that the leader would build an 8-0/9 lead? If it is 2.5% (assumed for the sake of discussion) then would it be fair to say that it is twice as easy to rally from a 0-8/9 deficit than it is to build an 8-0/9 lead? I'm curious how others view this and would analyze the problem. Thanks.
