If you subtract added money minus rake you have effectively very little rake in this tournament.

Backgammon tournaments is not a great gambling venture, this is well known. The main reason isn't the rake but the low entry fees, relatively high quality of players and concise match formats. Only the really top notch players can expect to be a little bit ahead after expenses.
