Invite only on gridgammon - a pain in the ass

When can we expect this policy to change? It is difficult to organize online events simply because it is difficult to get an account on gridgammon. The problem is that there are no other free platforms with good graphics etc which are available (I have checked out FIBS and SHG and they are not good enough imo).
