How To Post a Rollout from GNU Backgammon

Do I Need To Swap Players?
By tradition, the bottom player in a board diagram is the player on roll. This is true for both cube decisions and checker plays. If you are posting a position where the top player is on roll, follow these steps to swap players. Otherwise, skip ahead.
- Press Ctrl+C to copy the GnuBg ID for the position.
- Open a new instance of the GNU Backgammon program.
- Press Ctrl+V to paste the GnuBg ID into the new instance.
- Click Game, Swap players. This will put the player on roll on the bottom.
Decide How Many Moves You Would Like To Display
For a checker decision (but not a cube action), you have to decide how many moves to display in the rollout. Follow these steps to enter that value. For cube actions, skip ahead.
- Click Settings, Export... to open the Export Settings dialog box.
- On the bottom left part of the dialog, find the large group of settings labeled “Output move analysis.”
- The first setting in the group is “Show at most [...] moves.”
- Enter the number of moves you wish to display, and click OK.
Post the Position in a BgOnline Message
- Click Edit, Copy as, Gammon OnLine (HTML). This copies your position onto the Windows clipboard (from which you can paste it later).
- In your BgOnline message position the cursor at the location where you wish the rollout to appear.
- Press Ctrl+V to paste it in.
- Write and post the rest of your message as usual.
This should do the trick. I hope you will try it out by posting your position now.
