If this wasn't a problem, I would have not seen making deuce is possible. In practice I make 4pt, switch 10 to 8, and bring one down--the normal play. Making deuce instead has some merit. It reduces numbers that make second anchor from 3 to 2. And with this much timing 21 backgame should be better than 41. Still, I cannot see it better than normal play.
