First decision is whether to hit or not. We have to hit to win this game, and even if we have decent chances to get another shot if not hitting now, we also have to actually hit this potential shot. That's two if's, and in total I think the chances of hitting another checker if passing now are too low, even though we will have to make ourselves vulnerable in doing so. So 13/11*. Then we may play 13/7 and not leave a direct shot, but I count 11 indirects, and the play leaves three blots. Not so nice when things go bad and we lose a gammon. Then I much prefer to just continue with 11/5, at the cost of four additional shots. The reason being that it slots a key point that we will have good chances of making if missed.
