White is Player 2
score: 3
pip: 1329 point match pip: 185
score: 7
Blue is Player 1XGID=----aCD-----cD---e-d-bA-C-:1:1:1:43:7:3:0:9:10 Blue to play 43 This position reminds of the presention named Priming Formation and Blitzing Formation by Mochy. He advises identifying which of the two games plans is appropriate in a given position before choosing tactics.
In yours, it looks like the chance of building a prime is close to zero. That, and your desire not to be hit at this match score, argue for a blitzing approach. Making the 2pt should help your attack if you ever get a hit.
On the other hand, the 24pt is real problem. Staying back may incur more danger of losing a gammon than getting hit does. For this reason, I would play 24/20, and then consider the 3. Playing down from the midpoint would give the opponent a good 6, at a time when he already has plenty of shots.
That leaves 6/3, which is what I would play.
E (Each) = 24/20, 6/3
