If you (the general you) don't have the time to do these calculations, just realize you are a healthy favorite so that you do not need to cater for specific doublets to gain a roll, but should take care of missing sequences that lose a roll, so spread them out. Not always right I suppose but a good rule if you have, say, 3 seconds of bank time left.
