I looked at three plays: B/22 24/22, B/23 8/5* and B/22 6/4*. The first I rejected quickly because it lets XG improve freely. The idea behind B/22 6/4* is that it takes away a tempo and aims for a better anchor than B/233 8/5*. However, B/23 8/5* locks up a second anchor and tries for the 5 point and ought to be better. I don't know by how much.
