25 Return Hits, Including 10 Double-Hits

If White would only roll a 6, then hitting would look like the smartest play in the world. The problem is that every roll that does not include a 6, allows White to hit. 10 rolls let him hit twice.

Is Blue’s 33-pip lead worth trying to protect? I’m not sure. OTB, I start with the hitting play. Then, if not for the darn clock, I might have time to count all the shots. Usually, I end up hitting.

Throw in a little QF, however, along with a modicum of tabulation, and you have enough to get me to try the safe play. Since this is a lose-lose proposition for Blue, the only question is which poison to prefer.

C means “cross over the bar, into the inner board.”

C (Cross) = bar/24, 11/6
