When in doubt, make the 5 point.

Here, White may have 11 checkers in the zone, but attacking on the 1 or 3 is not sound unless it's a POH. Meanwhile, white has not moved her back checkers yet, so blocking them is the right idea. After making the 5 point. 4s 5s and 6s are blocked. That's huge.
