I think its important to note that coming off the 22 is actually a bad thing - its the edge of the homeboard prime, its the next point in order that white wants to make, and it has two ways to escape from it (4s and 6s). So, long term, we prefer that point to the 23. In the absence of any reasonable play elsewhere on the board, then 23/14 is the only option here, IMO.

I suppose XG could find some interesting alternative that *may* better capitalize on our position, but practically speaking, 23/14 just feels right to me.

Also, we probably want to shoot anyone that wants to point on white here - not that anyone mentioned that play... yet.
