In Response To: Cube action from Saturday ACS Tournament (Phil Simborg)

Without doing any math, a win gets blue to Crawford and a gammon wins the match while a redouble makes gammons meaningless and lets white hand us an 8 cube.

My gut says hold and a clear take. Let's do the takepoint calculations.

Pass -> 9a C -> 5
Take/win -> 3a C -> 75
Take/lose -> 0

So white is risking 5 to gain 70. r/r+g = 5/75 = 1/15 for the takepoint. White has to have more than that since she can probably spring a runner and hold her board until blue breaks contact. The take seems very clear, and I wouldn't hand white the cube at this score unless I was darn sure it was a pass.
