Timing. It's just not super easy to get 2 out from behind a 5 point prime. With one shooting at another checker for a 3rd one up it becomes drop-ish to a drop. But here it's a recube, not an initial, and the match score factor makes a small difference.

Stick dealt with these issues and I happened to read his article about an hour before you posted. :-). Not the match aspects but a pretty good set of reference positions for 5 point primes. Might have gotten it right anyway but easily could have missed it. With a refresher just an hour before... Well... It made it easier :-)
