Ah Clem: No idea what a standard Kubrick play is.

Well, in Stick's specific case, it means he's getting some electric shock therapy a la Clockwork Orange, and he's going to make a play that gives him a pleasurable buzz from a cattle prod, rather than an unpleasant one.

Or, it could mean he's going to consult with HAL, and let it tell him what that play is.

Alternatively, he's going to growl "here's Johnny!" while clutching a knife and dare anyone to challenge him. Ooh - it might be a redrum thing, and making the backwards play (which would be running a checker away).

I dont know what it is either. I fail to understand the reference myself. Unless its the Clockwork Orange one.
