Trailing by a bunch, Blue's best chance to win is to hit a White checker. Advancing the back checker up to the edge of White's prime would make that task harder. Similarly, moving the outfield checker closer to the midpoint would also decrease the chance of getting a hit.

The DMP play is probably something like O = 8/7(2) 8/6, which maixmizes contact. It's a closer choice in UG, but I would try it anyway.
