List of tournaments and the criteria for awarding points are in the first sheet of the Excel file that you can download from the bottom of the post.

Ok ... so your only source was the Chicago Point's tournament results pages, and you only included the "international" tournaments listed there.

That may explain the presence of few Danes and British on your list, since the results of many open tournaments in those countries aren't listed at Chicago Point. You also exclude what may be very competitive tournaments, such as the Danish Championship, because it's not "international." And the whole Italian circuit is missing, too.

Another problem with ranking systems like this one is that all tournaments are weighted alike. The ABT points systems mitigates this somewhat by factoring attendance into points awarded. But that still doesn't account for the widely differing median level of skill, or the numbers of excellent players present, at different tournaments.

But your list is a tool, and it might be helpful, used wisely.
