Konstantin: What is the criteria for 'nexting' a roll?
When I am absolutely convinced that the majority will vote the way I expect. I'm plenty happy to lay 100-1 odds that if the play were put up to a vote, the play I select would win. Not only that, but I'm fairly confident it will be unanimous.
I didn't put this play up to a vote:
White is The Prime Factors
score: 0
pip: 1689 point match pip: 141
score: 1
Blue is The Dilly BuildersXGID=--bBBaD-B---dC---b-db--A-A:1:-1:1:31:1:0:0:9:10 Blue to play 31 eXtreme Gammon Version: 2.10
The second best play is to make the anchor, and that play earns you a one way express ticket to BK. It's certainly possible that somebody might vote for that, but I just find it impossible that there wouldn't be six people who wouldn't gladly hit loose on the 5 point.
As a matter of policy, no cubes ever get auto-played.
When in doubt, I put things up to votes. It is much worse to auto play a move that should be voted on than to put up a vote on what turns out to be obvious.
