Amazing as it may seem, Sherlock Holmes assures me that, according to XGR++ evaluation, the move White just played (to reach the above position) was her best.

As for Blue's cube decision: In comparison to 51S-55A-2-C (diagrammed below), I have a lot of respect for the value of the a fourth 8pt checker, so I'm inclined to think that Blue's 13/11 is worth more than the net of White's bar/15 minus her 13/8. That said (i.e., while I think White is relatively worse off and Blue has a closer cube decision in the above position than in the known-to-be-no-double 51S-55A-2-C diagrammed below), I would still hold off doubling.
