In chess there's a phrase "castling into it" meaning that wht is usually a defensive move (castling) just puts the king in more danger.

I think hitting here would do the same. Blue only has a one-point board, and a blot there too. After the hit he's facing ten checkers in the zone, a four point board, two juicy blots, likely a third man back and on the roof. With white owning the GP, it's blitz city.

Pretty much all of the safe v bold criteria point to safe. I'll make the 3 point here.
