You know you are somebody when you are willing to bet on a play and no one will bet against you, and your play turns out to be a blunder.

You know you are somebody if you can convince everyone in the chouette to make a blunder.

You know you are somebody if they won't let you in their chouette (and it's not because of the way you smell).

You know you are somebody if you go first in the calcutta. (If this happens when you are an intermediate, then you know you are a sandbagger.)

You know you are somebody if you have had your Taki board recovered. Three times.

You know you are somebody if Rory is nice to you.

You know you are somebody if Larry Liebster remembers your name.

You know you are somebody if you overhear someone telling someone else that they beat you.

You know you are somebody if you play so well on line that someone accuses you of cheating.

You know you are somebody if you don't bother to bring the trophy home but leave it in your hotel room instead.

You know you are somebody if you are put on a Giants vote at some spot other than No. 2.

You know you are somebody is someone calls you over and asks what you would do on a checker play or cube decision.

You know you are somebody if you have over 4 doubling cubes in your board.

You know you are somebody if you post your opinion on BGOnline and nobody calls you an idiot or a jerk for expressing your opinion. (Currently, Nack is the only one who qualifies in this category.)

You know you are somebody if Stick has called you a donkey.

You know you are somebody if Svobodny invites you to his private super bowl party.

You know you are somebody if you are hated by either Ray Fogerlund or Paul Weaver. (Doesn't matter which one, but you need to be hated by one or the other to have arrived in the backgammon world.)

You know you are somebody if you play something other than backgammon in your spare time at a backgammon tournament (gin, poker, hearts and bridge being the main thing the really cool people play)

You know you are somebody if you are one of the favorites but don't buy back in the calcutta (and it's not because you forgot).

And lastly, you know you are somebody if you have your own baffle box.
