Its a 5th homeboard point you are planning on making, not a 4th. The checkers that you can make it with come from the 8pt (for direct covers), which happens to be the broken 5th part of the 6 prime. I also appreciate what kind of containment you need, and dont need to setup a position to know this. Should you get gammoned by less than 4 pips, then you will think yourself 'unlucky'. Should you think back to here, and realize you didnt need to waste those 4 pips, then you will think yourself 'foolish'. Of course, stuff will happen inbetween, so dont worry about it.

The other aspect here is what if you (somehow) get an immediate shot, and hit it, suddenly there are parlays where you get hit back with an immediate 2 and you still get gammoned because of it. There's so many ways to look at it.

I am not saying that I am certain when it comes down to the specific game equity at stake here, and slotting could be right, however, I like to keep what I think is as good a containment as is needed, while remaining race (whether its running off a gammon, or racing in general) efficient. However, thats my opinion, I will stick to it, and further I wont give much of a shit should the vote go the other way.
