OTish: i5 or i7 for XG?

I have an i5-4430, 3.0GHz, quad, and don't overclock. I also don't need any additional cooling. But OTOH, I don't run large numbers of lengthy, high-settings rollouts in short periods of time.

With my i5, "upgrading" a 4-ply middle game reasonably normal-looking checker play within a match, considering four alternatives, to XGR++ takes around 30-45 seconds. Since the i5 you are considering is a bit faster, maybe a bit less for you. If you can't wait that long, get the i7! (Or something even bigger and meaner.)
