Can I sell the box?

Every chouette has its own rules. Most do not allow the selling of the box as many believe this could be unfair to weaker player or have other reasons for disliking it.

We have had a full, formal set of rules in Chicago for many years, first written by myself with lots of help from Jake, and then revised, added to, and improved over the years. If you would like a set, email me and I'll be happy to send it.

Our rules do not allow selling the box or making a deal for the box, however, if the box agrees to "wash" with the Captain, the box is retained, but if the box makes a settlement with the captain where he pays, he loses the box, and if he collects, he keeps the box. In our chouette, all you have to do to keep the box is tie or beat the captain. Many require also making a profit.

But if you have 4 people playing and all 4 agree, you can revise any rule you want any time you want.
