transferring XG files

one of my computers has died on me. I have 4000 files in XG and they all were put into shortcuts onto my desktop. These shortcuts were put into folders according to blitzes, holding games and other categories. All of my files have been backed up, but when I purchase a new computer, I have to activate with my activation key. But the files from XG on the other computer will not be there. How do I transfer all the 4000 files into XG on the new computer so that when all the shortcuts with the folders are transferred to the new one? If I just transfer all the shortcuts they will not work without the original files. I would appreciate your help in this before I purchase the computer. Are these XG files on the hard drive? If they are how can I transfer to new computer? Thank you in advance.
