Someone Should Iancho All Streamed Matches

"Iancho" is one of the newest verbs in the English language — so new, in fact, that it may not be in your dictionary. It refers to the act of taking a bunch of matches played by a bunch of players and entering them into the XG account manager and then compiling a ranking list based on the PRs. A young Bulgarian badminton and backgammon player named Iancho Hristov began doing this roughly a dozen years ago, recording and analyzing thousands of GamesGrid matches, entering them into the Snowie account manager and compiling a ranking list which was posted on this site.

There are currently many different ways of ranking backgammon players: the Giant-32 List, the ABT list, a computer list based on win-loss records, and others. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. As more and more data are compiled, the Ianchoing of all streamed matches at live tournaments should produce a rating list that will eventually become more accurate than any of the above for US players.

I will email a copy of this post to USBGF president Bill Riles and Chairwoman Karen Davis to encourage someone in the USBGF to oversee this project. In the event that the USBGF is not interested in doing this, I hope someone involved in the transcription process will begin to Iancho all streamed tournament matches.
