Hitting 5/2* is a must here. Making the board is nice but it leaves the opponent too much freedom. He will try to escape his checker or pick and pass/point on us in his inner board. We put him in the air while he has a blotted inner board and we're down in the race and getting hit doesn't put us back much forcing him to roll well or face a bitch of a cube next turn.
