When we played I called out our dice rolls and I noted my plays -- 13/8, 24/21 as an example.

We used my regular board. The checkers were not differentiated in any way that could be judged by feel. He scoped out the size of the board. He would occasionally scan the board by feel to confirm positions. He never made an illegal play and he never asked a confirming question. All he needed was to know the rolls and to know my plays.

Most incredible and impressive testament to the human mind and one's adaptation to what many would call a disability. We must remember what seems a disability to us is but the norm for him. He seemingly leads a full and accomplished life. He travels, he engages in business, and he has become an accomplished backgammon player. I'm sure he has many more interests and activities of which I am not aware.
