Thank you for your observation, Keene, let me try to explain our point of view.

About the 10€ annual fee: to stay within the law, we must be associated to a national sports association (UISP) and 10€ is the cost we pay them for each player/year.

About the 40€ registration fee: 10€ goes in the playoff prize (playoff at the end of the regular season); 30€ is the real fee and we use it to pay: tournament staff for 3 days (no volunteers), game rooms, an accountant for financial management, providing and shipping boards, clocks, trophies and miscellaneous over Italy. Believe it or not, at the end of the season not a cent remains in our pocket.

I agree with you that 25% rake for casual players is too much, cause they don’t benefit of the playoff prize.

For a regular player the fee goes down to 15%.

It would be very easy for us to raise the entry fee to lower the % of the registration fee but it is not our philosophy.

The majority of CNB players prefer to pay a little more in order to play in charming places, rather than pay less and play in anonymous places.

Who would not pay 10€ more to play in a historic building in Venice rather than in an airport?

About Intermediate/champion % difference: intermediate are lucky people, but they have a lower playoff prize.
