You cannot use the Woolsey rule as freely in matchplay as for money - because in matchplay, there are many positions where doubling will reduce your match winning chances, no matter whether your opponent takes or passes.

I think JOH wants you also to take the bad rolls into account, somehow. But better he explains.

I agree that this might be a practical double; you need to evaluate your opponent.
