Phil, thank you for your input.

As I am relatively new in the playing scene, I can't comment much about the past, but I can comment about your first few arguments:

1. Sadly I agree with your claim on the effect when excluding myself. I write sadly because one player/person should be nothing more than a drop in the ocean in terms of the population and sadly this is not the case with respect to the backgammon population.

2. I agree with your second argument as well. Intuitively, I suspect that the average PR for the aggregate ABT events would be slightly higher but I would be careful not to exaggerate as we learned that we tend to underestimate the average open player in general.

I also agree that the median is a better way to measure skill. I disagree on excluding outliers for the reasons that Jason pointed.
