2015 Texas Backgammon--Impossible odds

It's tournaments like this that make lots of people believe there should be a division higher than Open/Championship...maybe Pro Division. I have heard some Open players say they feel they are just throwing their money away in tough events like this.

Well, I'm willing to throw my money away, because I know that if I can average +4 luck factor I could easily win this thing and of course, I would never admit that I rolled well, and I'd have something to really brag about.

What are the odds of averaging +4 luck over say 6 matches? Probably better than the odds of someone like, say, Carter, winning the Open in New York, or Tuvya winning the Masters.

If you love this game, it's really hard not to be excited just to be in the same room with so many of the greats and the legends as will be in San Antonio. It will be an honor to lose to most of these people and well worth the price just to sit down with them. I don't know if we will ever see a tougher field again in the U.S.
