Labeling this as prime v. prime is misleading. It's either containment of 1 checker back (when the doubler immediately rolls a 6) or prime v. attack. (when the on roll player doesn't roll a 6 immediately he will often be put in the air v. a 5pt board buying him time to potentially escape his back checker) There are a few scenarios [33 11 53 31] where the on roll player will have a six prime and there's very little prime v. prime in those scenarios because the on roll player's timing is so far superior.

I trust XG for the most part in pvp decisions. It's news to me that it 'isn't always the best'.

This is definitely a take and one of those odd positions where the player being doubled wins more gammons. This has a big effect compared to your normal every day cube decisions.
